FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Posada (which means inn or lodging):   Knitted figures of Joseph and Mary and their donkey, and of the shepherds, and the Magi, are circulating round homes in the parish.

Could you give them lodging for a night or two?  Please sign up, or speak to Susan Short of one of the clergy if you can offer hospitality to them.

Knit and Natter  Tuesdays, 2.00 pm at St John's

 “9 O’clock Coffee Stop”  Thursdays (term ttime only) at St. John’s - 9am – 11am. 

All are welcome to drop in for coffee and chat.  Bring friends with you. Children’s play area provided.

Advance dates:


 Licensing of the Revd Stuart Hill as Associate Priest:  Tuesday 22 January 2019,7.00pm in St Paul’s, followed by refreshments in church.   Please keep the evening free to give Stuart and his wife Karen a good welcome.  Bishop Paul will be officiating, and this will also be an opportunity for him to celebrate our new parish.

This service will be without Eucharist, and the Tuesday Eucharist will take place at St Peter’s that morning as usual at 10.00amPlease keep that evening free and aim to come along to give a great welcome.  Revd Stuart will be leading services in all the churches within his first week with us.


The planning meeting for our next All-age Service will take place at St Simon’s at 10.50am on Wednesday 23 January.


Parish Lunch  Sunday 3 February in St John the Baptist Hall.    After the Candlemas All-age Eucharist in St Simon’s on 3 February  we will be having a Parish Lunch at St John’s, to which all are invited.  To plan the catering appropriately please sign up by 27 January if you are planning to be there.  If you would like to be part of the planning group please attend a meeting at 10.45am at St Paul’s on Saturday 19th Jan


The Ven. Sarah Clark will be consecrated Bishop of Jarrow on 22nd February in York Minster, and she will be welcomed into the Diocese at Evensong on Sunday 7th April at 3.30pm. in Durham Cathedral
